Frustration!!!!!
We have been having some wind and some storms with a lot of wind here and my fence became a victim of it. Well, mostly the backside and a couple of slats on each side as well.
So on Wednesday we called to have it repaired as soon as it happened. After all, it looks yucky and we have two dogs. They came on Thursday, removed 4 sections of fence, broken posts and installed new posts and then left. Hmmm... I called to see if they would be finishing that day...nope, the cement for the posts have to dry for 24 hours. Oookkaayy....we will survive. They said they would finish it on Friday (today). Well, today at 2 p.m. I called to find out when they would be coming out today to finish our fence. Apparently, where they are it is pouring rain and so they can't come here and work on the fence in the rain. What?!? It isn't raining here. Hasn't yet. When can they come and finish fixing our fence? MONDAY!!!!!! They don't work on the weekends.
Now I know that most of the time when your fence butts up to someone else's it probably isn't a big deal to wait a few days for your fence to be fixed, except we have two dogs. Dogs who like to go out in their backyard. They like to play in that backyard and attend to their business in that backyard. Abby is 60+ lbs. and Rocky is 20+ lbs. and a Pomeranian (in other words, highly energetic and crazy!) and walking them is HARD. We walked Abby for three years before we had a house and she was FANTASTIC on a leash and so well trained. After getting a house we became very lax in walking her and loved the convenience of her having a backyard. Walking the two of them together is like have a set of quadruplets who are two years old at the candy store. They strain against the leashes, Rocky wiggles out of his collar and runs for the hills, Rocky also runs around your feet and tries to trip you, and Abby is just ready to GO!
We don't want to let the dogs just be let loose in our backyard right now because we don't want them to go into our back neighbor's yard. I mean, seriously, who wants other people's dogs in their backyard playing, etc... So we have been putting Abby on a leash and walking her in our own backyard. Rocky will not go into our neighbor's yard without Abby so just putting Abby on a leash is sufficient. Except, she HATES it.
It has been just so much fun. Wish us luck that we survive this weekend. Ugh!
